Giving Tuesday Holiday Giving Fundraiser Rape Recovery Center

Fundraising Campaign | Digital Storytelling | Community Outreach | Nonprofit Communications

For Giving Tuesday 2022, I led a full digital fundraising campaign for the Rape Recovery Center — a trauma-informed nonprofit serving survivors of sexual assault in Utah. With a goal of $30,000 and a small team, I built and executed a multi-channel storytelling campaign that connected community compassion directly to survivor impact. The campaign exceeded its goal by 33%, broke the organization's Giving Tuesday record, and reached over 250,000 people across digital and outdoor media.

vs. Goal

+33% over target

Original goal: 30,000

The Rape Recovery Center serves a population that is often invisible in public conversation. The challenge wasn't just fundraising — it was building enough trust, empathy, and visibility in a single campaign window to move a community to act. With limited budget and staff capacity, every creative decision had to work harder than usual.

The results

  • $40,000 raised — exceeding the $30,000 goal by 33%

  • Record-breaking Giving Tuesday for the organization

  • 250,000+ impressions from billboard on I-15

  • Growth in volunteer sign-ups and new community partnerships

  • Gained 78 organic social media followers during the campaign period

What I built

  • 4-week storytelling email sequence leading into Giving Tuesday

  • TikTok-style short-form videos featuring staff and Mobile Response Team advocates

  • Donor and community testimonial videos building shared purpose

  • Complimentary digital billboard secured through YESCO partnership — displayed on I-15 in Utah County and Salt Lake City

  • Visual donation transparency framework ($25, $100, $500 impact)
